Child Safeguarding Level 1 Information Seminar – Virtual Evening Session 6:30pm

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS SESSION

This virtual evening session is for all Church staff/volunteers who are required to abide by “Good Safeguarding Practice”.

CONTENT

The course content includes;

  • Legal context of Safeguarding Children
  • What is meant by Child Abuse and types of abuse
  • Signs and Indicators
  • Responding and Reporting and who to report to
  • Codes of Conduct for staff/volunteers working with children
  • ACE’s awareness

SESSION TIMES/LOCATIONS

This session is taking place virtually via Zoom.

The session will start promptly at 6:30pm and will last approx. 90 minutes.

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

The Zoom link to join the session will be emailed to you approximately 24 hours before the time of the session.

Please ensure to check your junk folder as well as your inbox for the link.

Please ensure that you join the session promptly as we cannot admit people after the start time.

Please choose a quiet room to sit in, whilst on the virtual session.

Please ensure that your camera remains on at all times, as we want to replicate face to face training as much as possible.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

If joining with other participants, please have no more than 3 people on one devise and in a separate room from others who may be attending the same training due to acoustic feedback.

We want to try and ensure our training is accessible to everyone if you have a specific accessibility requirement, please do not hesitate to contact the safeguarding office in advance of the training.

Relevant session resources will be emailed separately.

If at any stage during the training the content feels emotionally triggering, you may turn off your camera temporarily.

If  for some reason, you are no longer able to attend the session, please let the Safeguarding Office know as soon as possible so that your space can be allocated to someone else.

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

  • The Zoom link and any relevant resources will be sent to you no later than 24 hours before the session.
  • If you cannot find the joining email, please ensure to check your Junk Folder.
  • Ensure your device has the correct browser or Zoom app installed.
  • The sessions will start promptly, so please make sure you are in the waiting room at least 5 minutes before the start of the course so you can make sure you are logged on.
  • No one will be admitted to the session after the scheduled start time and you will be advised to book on to another session.
