What is Safe Place?

Safe Place is a simple but very effective initiative that allows any church, business, organisation, school or community group to provide information and signposting to anyone affected by domestic and sexual abuse.

The Safe Place initiative does not involve providing direct support services to anyone living

with domestic abuse, instead we aim to raise awareness and build capacity to ensure

anyone affected by domestic abuse is directed to support services.

We ask all Safe Place organisations to sign up to the Safe Place Pledge:

To Never commit, condone or stay silent about Domestic Abuse To Acknowledge that Domestic Violence or Abuse are problems that impact on everyone and be prepared to play your part to help and support anyone affected To Provide a Safe Place for anyone affected by Domestic Violence or Abuse to confidentially access information.

To implement Safe Place you are asked to:

Complete a Safe Place registration form. Display the Safe place Logo and posters. Provide access to resources and support for people affected by domestic abuse.

Resources

Your main resources will be the Safe Place business card with details of helpline numbers displayed here.

Once you are registered as a Safe Place, you will be sent a supply of resources. You will receive a Safe Place certificate, a pack of posters, window stickers and a supply of Safe Place business cards with contact details of support organisations.
