The Day of Prayer and Atonement was marked in our Diocese with the celebration of Mass by Bishop Alan McGuckian in Saint Peter’s Cathedral last Friday 20th February. During the mass Bishop Alan lit the Candle of Atonement.
This Day of Prayer was also marked in our Parishes across the Diocese over that weekend.
This day remains an important event in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
The harm inflicted on children and adults within our Church and Diocese must never be forgotten. Victims and survivors will remain in our thoughts and prayers.
This underpins the work of safeguarding in our Diocese and Parishes.
