Philip O Hara, the Director for Safeguarding for the Diocese of Down and Connor is also the Chairperson of the Interfaith Committee under the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (SBNI). As Chairperson of this Committee, Philip sits on the Board of SBNI.
SBNI is a key statutory mechanism for agreeing how relevant partners will cooperate and work together and promote the welfare of children and young people in Northern Ireland , and for ensuring the effectiveness of what they do.
SBNI have engaged with Barnardo’s NI to carry out a series of consultations with children young people, parents and carers.
They will be seeking opinions and views on what SBNI should focus on its new Strategic Plan for 2026-2030.
