Child Safeguarding Training Level 2 - Saturday Session - BALLYMENA
Cushendall Road, Ballymena, BT43 6HAThese sessions are Mandatory for all Clergy, Deacons, and Volunteer Group Leaders who have regular or direct contact with Children and Young People.
The session is taking place face to face in Newcastle Parish Centre, 9 Cushendall Road, Ballymena, BT43 6HA
The session is a full day starting at 10am and finishing up at approx 3:00pm.
A light lunch will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please contact the Safeguarding Office.
COURSE CONTENT
- The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- Creating a common understanding of “How to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with Children and Young People.
- Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a Child or Young Person.
- Working safely with children and Young People.
- The National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- ACE’s awareness.

Introduction to Adult Safeguarding - Virtual Session
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS SESSION?
This virtual evening session is those in non-leadership roles and covers the following:
CONTENT
- Legal and policy context of Adult Safeguarding
- What is meant by Adult Safeguarding?
- Diocesan Safeguarding Structures
- Role of the Diocesan Adult Safeguarding Champion
- Awareness of adult abuse issues
- Procedures for reporting concerns
- Code of conduct for staff/volunteers working with adults
COURSE DETAILS
PLATFORM: Zoom
START TIME: This session will start promptly at 6:30pm (Please note – if you are not in the Zoom Waiting Room for 6:30, you will not be permitted to the training)
DURATION: approx 90 minutes
