This full day session is Mandatory for all Clergy, who have regular or direct contact with Children and Young People.

COURSE CONTENT

• The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
• Creating a common understanding of “How to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with Children and Young People.
• Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a Child or Young Person.
• Working safely with children and Young People.
• The 7 National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
• ACE’s awareness.

This Virtual lunchtime session is for all Church staff/volunteers who are required to abide by “Good Safeguarding Practice”.

The course content includes;

• Legal context of Safeguarding Children
• What is meant by Child Abuse and types of abuse
• Signs and Indicators
• Responding and Reporting and who to report to
• Codes of Conduct for staff/volunteers working with children
