Since October 2024 the Diocese of Down and Connor, along with the other Northern Dioceses and the other Church denominations in the North have engaged with three pieces of research commissioned by the Northern Ireland Executive Office. These Research Reports were published this afternoon.
1- HCCA- A Review of current safeguarding policies and practices within the faith sector
2- HCCA- Review of Records Held
3- HCCA- Oral History Research Report
These Reports bring home the pain and suffering of those who have been abused within our Church.
These Reports will shape how our Church responds to abuse and supports victims and survivors.
