These evening sessions are Mandatory for all Clergy, Deacons, and Volunteer Group Leaders who have regular or direct contact with Children and Young People.

COURSE CONTENT

  • The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
  • Creating a common understanding of "How to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with Children and Young People.
  • Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a child or young person.
  • Working safely with children and young people.
  • The National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland 2024.
  • ACE's awareness.

COURSE LOCATION/TIME AND DURATION

This session is session one of two which is  taking place in St John's parish centre, Falls Rd, Belfast and starts at 7:00pm

You need to attend both sessions in order to complete the course.

    The session is a full day starting at 10:30am.

    A light lunch will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please contact the Safeguarding Office.
