Introduction to Adult Safeguarding - Virtual Session
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS SESSION?
This virtual evening session is those in non-leadership roles and covers the following:
CONTENT
- Legal and policy context of Adult Safeguarding
- What is meant by Adult Safeguarding?
- Diocesan Safeguarding Structures
- Role of the Diocesan Adult Safeguarding Champion
- Awareness of adult abuse issues
- Procedures for reporting concerns
- Code of conduct for staff/volunteers working with adults
COURSE DETAILS
PLATFORM: Zoom
START TIME: This session will start promptly at 6:30pm (Please note – if you are not in the Zoom Waiting Room for 6:30, you will not be permitted to the training)
DURATION: approx 90 minutes

Child Safeguarding Level 1 Information Seminar - Virtual Evening Session 6:30pm
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS SESSION
This virtual evening session is for all Church staff/volunteers who are required to abide by “Good Safeguarding Practice”.
CONTENT
The course content includes;
- Legal context of Safeguarding Children
- What is meant by Child Abuse and types of abuse
- Signs and Indicators
- Responding and Reporting and who to report to
- Codes of Conduct for staff/volunteers working with children
- ACE’s awareness

This session is taking place virtually via Zoom.
The session will start promptly at 6:30pm and will last approx. 90 minutes.

Child Safeguarding Training Level 2 - Face to Face Evening Session 2 of 2- 7:00pm
470 Falls Road, BELFAST, BT12 6ENThese evening sessions are Mandatory for all Clergy, Deacons, and Volunteer Group Leaders who have regular or direct contact with children and young people.
COURSE CONTENT
- The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- Creating a common understanding of “How to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with children and young people.
- Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a child or young person.
- Working safely with children and Young People.
- The National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland 2024
- ACE’s awareness.

These sessions are shorter in length (approx 2 hrs) and are for those who have already attended the full day Level 2 training previously.The session aims are to:- Provide an opportunity to reflect on some of the challenges you are facing in safeguarding today and encourage a culture of safeguarding within our Church.
- To refresh your knowledge in relation to recognising, responding and reporting.
