Child Level 2 Child Safeguarding Refresher Training - Virtual Session - 6:30pm
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS SESSION
These sessions are shorter in length (approx 3 hrs) and are for those who have already attended the full day Level 2 training previously.The session aims are to:- Provide an opportunity to reflect on some of the challenges you are facing in safeguarding today and encourage a culture of safeguarding within our Church.
- To refresh your knowledge in relation to recognising, responding and reporting.
CONTENT
- The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- Creating a common understanding of how to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with Children and Young People.
- Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a Child or Young Person.
- Working safely with Children and Young People.
- The National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- ACE’s awareness.
SESSION TIMES/LOCATIONS
This session is taking place Virtually via Zoom.
It will start promptly at 6:30pm. If you are not in the waiting room by this time, you will not be admitted to the session.
This virtual session will last no longer than 3 hours.

Adult Safeguarding Training for Leaders - Virtual Session 1 of 2
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS SESSION
This training is for clergy and volunteers who have regular and or direct contact with adults – coordinating/organising adult activities (e.g. SPRED Leaders, Luncheon Club Leaders, visitation team Leader, Leaders of Eucharistic Ministers).The training will be delivered virtually on 23rd & 24th October 2024* starting at 6:30pm (total length 5 hrs – 2.5hrs per eve).
*Participants must be able to attend both dates.
COURSE CONTENT
The training will cover:
• Legal and policy context
• Values and principles
• Key definitions
• Categories of abuse and possible indicators
• Procedures for reporting concerns
• Code of behaviour
• Planning and managing activities.
• Risk management
• Confidentiality issues
• Creating a person – centred environmentSESSION TIMES/LOCATIONS

These sessions are Mandatory for all Clergy, Deacons, and Volunteer Group Leaders who have regular or direct contact with Children and Young People.

- The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- Creating a common understanding of “How to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with Children and Young People.
- Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a Child or Young Person.
- Working safely with children and Young People.
- The 7 National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
- ACE’s awareness.

This session is one of two which is taking place Virtually via Zoom.

Both sessions must be attended in order to complete the training.
