This training is for anyone who has already completed the full day/2 evening sessions of the Child Level 2 Safeguarding training 3 years or more ago and needs a refresher session.

This session starts at 10:00am and will last no longer than 3 hours.

This face to face evening session in All Saints Ballymena is for all Church staff/volunteers who are required to abide by “Good Safeguarding Practice”.

The course content includes;

• Legal context of Safeguarding Children
• What is meant by Child Abuse and types of abuse
• Signs and Indicators
• Responding and Reporting and who to report to
• Codes of Conduct for staff/volunteers working with children
• ACE’s awareness

The course starts at 7:00pm and lasts approx 2 hours

This virtual lunchtime session is for all Church staff/volunteers who are required to abide by “Good Safeguarding Practice”.

The course content includes;

• Legal context of Safeguarding Children
• What is meant by Child Abuse and types of abuse
• Signs and Indicators
• Responding and Reporting and who to report to
• Codes of Conduct for staff/volunteers working with children
• ACE’s awareness

This session starts at 12:30pm & the duration is approximately 3 hours

This is a face to face session in St Brigids, Parish Hall, 7:00pm

This virtual evening session is for all Church staff/volunteers who are required to abide by “Good Safeguarding Practice”.

The course content includes;

• What is meant by Child Abuse and types of abuse
• Signs and Indicators
• Responding and Reporting and who to report to
• Codes of Conduct for staff/volunteers working with children
• ACE’s awareness

This session starts at 7:00pm & the duration is approximately 3 hours

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE

This full day session is Mandatory for all Clergy and Group Leaders who have regular or direct contact with Children and Young People.

COURSE CONTENT

• The expected standards of performance in Safeguarding Children within the Catholic Church in Ireland.
• Creating a common understanding of “How to safeguard children and develop best practice arrangements across all aspects of work and contact with Children and Young People.
• Recognising, responding and procedures for reporting a concern in relation to a Child or Young Person.
• Working safely with children and Young People.
• The 7 National Standards for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
• ACE’s awareness.

COURSE LENGTH AND TIME

The training will start promptly at 10:00am and finish at approximately 04:00pm. Light refreshments will be served during the day.
